This bike came to us in 2019 by a longtime customer who commissioned a significant amount of work to the motorcycle, including a new paint job the the bodywork and frame, Ohlins susnepnion, engine refresh and more!

The ultimate classic adventure bike: this 1983 BMW R80GS Paris Dakar edition captures the rally legend spirit with its tall windscreen, large-capacity tank graphics, signature Paris-Dakar badging, knobby tires, and rugged dual-sport setup. Finished in striking Alpine White, powered by the legendary air-cooled 797cc boxer twin (~50 hp of smooth, torquey pull), double-loop frame, telescopic forks, and upgraded Öhlins rear suspension, oversized front  brake rotor, and more for superior handling on backroads or light trails.

This bike has been in our care since 2019. The bike was completely gone through and received a fresh paint job in 2019 and looks amazing! 

This R80GS has been meticulously maintained at MAX BMW:

• 04/19/2019: Timing cover reseal, top end reseal, full carb rebuild, throttle tube replacement, full airhead annual service including all fluids refreshed, new spark plugs and caps + wires, forks serviced and rebuilt with Ohlins cartridge kit, progressive springs and new seals ,final drive rebuilt with new bearings and seals, new shift shaft seal, new neutral safety switch, new speedo cable boots, new battery straps, new tires (TKC80) with tubes, new side cases installed (not pictured), installed new Ohlins rear shock, installed new valve covers (OEM), installed new left and ride combo switches (OEM), installed new rear tail light (OEM), new steering frame lock, new decals, new fuel tank mounting hardware for PD tank.
  

• 12/30/2024: New battery installed, airhead annual service performed including all fluids, air filter replaced, valves checked and adjusted, new footpegs installed, new braided fuel line and filters, new ignition switch installed, 
  

• 02/18/2026: Performed annual airhead service including all fluids, including carburetor tension spring replacement and new oil pressure switch. Sidestand sandblasted and painted.
