These are what roadsters should feel like. Dynamic, state-of-the-art design and a choice of styles make BMW Roadsters irresistible.
2017 BMW G310 R
The BMW G 310 R is the essence of riding pleasure. It was built for pulsing cities and those who simply love riding motorcycles. It is maneuverable, easy to handle and sporty at the same time. Whether you're a tall or small rider, you’ll immediately feel at home on the BMW G 310 R! The bike is lightweight, yet a real powerhouse with its 313 cc engine. Get to work, the next hot spot or out of the city safely and reliably on the G 310 R. Premium quality, excellent workmanship and extraordinary technology ensure intense riding pleasure.
Good looks unmistakably run in the family – the G 310 R clearly carries the S 1000 R genes. The sporty headlight fairing with powerful headlight, dynamic fuel tank trim and typical roadster proportions transform it into an eye-catcher on the street. The G 310 R is light and strong. The sporty seat emphasizes the roadster dynamic and gives the bike an unmistakable motorsport look. The gold anodized fork and brake calipers emphasize the workmanship of the machine. Another highlight is the detailed aluminum swing arm. The design ensures lightness and the struts offer stability. Wide tires grip to the road - providing confident riding pleasure.
The G 310 R doesn't take second place. The single-cylinder, four-stroke 313 cc engine and range of features help to ensure this. The tilt of the cylinder to the rear and the cylinder head that has been rotated 180° lowers the center of gravity and shifts it in the direction of the front wheel. Because of this, the G 310 R is more agile and easier to control. The low and longer swing arm ensures even more stability, without unnecessarily increasing the wheelbase. Ride in confidence with standard ABS, a standard feature on all BMW motorcycles since 2013. Good looks, powerful drive and less than 350 lbs. fully fueled, with the G 310 R you can simply enjoy motorcycling.
Ride stress-free and relaxed through the streets with the G 310 R. Even in the big-city hustle and bustle, you'll ride with confidence thanks to the successful layout of all of the control elements. The ergonomic layout of the handlebars, footrest and control elements ensure a superb riding sensation. The G 310 R offers the right seat for all riders, providing stability. On any surface, the geometry and spring and damper tuning make it an agile city-hopper. Whether riding in heavy city traffic, commuting to work or just getting out of the city on the weekend, with the G 310 R you'll want to ride on!
2016 BMW F800 R
The F 800 R is a firmly established player in the BMW Motorrad roadster segment. It combines agility, everyday practicality and dynamic riding fun in an integrated sporty package. And the revised F 800 R takes the whole thing a step further.
The F 800 R is just the right motorbike if you simply want to get on and have fun - and that is just what it looks like. The precise lines and minimalist trim elements give it a sense of light-footed agility, while the new upside-down fork is suggestive of dynamic forward thrust even when stationary. The symmetrical headlamp gives the F 800 R a new distinctive look.
The F 800 R offers uncomplicated riding pleasure - ensured by the powerful yet economical parallel twin engine with 90 bhp - but it is also geared towards safety: ABS as standard, a stable, balanced suspension and the safety package to go with it (ASC, ESA, RDC) guarantee a supreme ride response and absolute control on the road.
The touring and all-round capabilities of the F 800 R are reflected not just in the wide range of seat heights and additional luggage fittings but also in the different paint finishes. The F 800 R stands for maximum riding pleasure like almost no other roadster. BMW Motorrad has now improved this successful concept even further.
2016 BMW S1000 R
A roadster, reduced to the essentials: maximum performance. 160 bhp, 83 lb/ft torque and a power-to-weight ratio of 2.85 pounds per bhp - and the competition disappears in the rear mirror.
The high-performance 4-cylinder in-line engine derives from the RR but has now been further optimized. The result: extremely linear torque delivery for constant forward drive across the entire engine rev range. The engine of the S 1000 R has an output of 160 bhp/118 kW at 11,000 rpm, while a maximum of 83 lb/ft torque at 9,250 rpm puts a smile on the rider's face at every twist of the throttle.
The lines of the S 1000 R are striking at first sight, too: aggressive tail-up/nose-down design, distinctive split face and the characteristic gills. The "R" shows much less of its sharp-edged, muscular skin. Some people call it naked - we just call it focused on the essentials.
The S 1000 R can be reined in and unleashed at the press of a button as standard. The "Rain" mode provides a gentle throttle response, with ABS and ASC adapted to wet road surfaces. Meanwhile "Road" optimizes throttle response, ABS and ASC for dry asphalt. The Pro modes are available as an optional extra for those chasing the threshold range: "Dynamic" and "Dynamic Pro" get the "R" into shape for the limits.
Power is nothing without control. The S 1000 R is fitted with Race ABS and ASC (automatic stability control) as standard. This duo ensures excellent acceleration and deceleration figures at threshold level. They can be activated and deactivated during travel, making for uninterrupted riding fun.
The "Standard" package adds Ride Modes Pro (Rain, Road + Dynamic, Dynamic Pro), gear shift assist, DTC (dynamic traction control) and cruise control. The "Premium" package includes all equipment in the "Standard" package plus DDC (dynamic damping control semi-active suspension), heated grips and engine spoiler. There will also be an extensive range of HP parts for the S 1000 R aimed at ambitious riders.
2016 BMW R1200 R
The new R 1200 R marks the status quo in terms of aesthetic appeal, dynamic performance and design. When our developers put forward their visions in the BMW Concept Roadster, this new bike was their greatest source of inspiration. And that's no surprise - after all, the new R 1200 R is a powerful machine that combines comfort, athletic flair and design in an entirely unique way.
Compact, tight, muscular - the bike's new design sets it clearly apart from its predecessor. The upside down telescopic fork based on the S 1000 RR not only gives this powerhouse a striking appearance but also ensures stability and precise handling. With the sharply drawn lines along the fuel tank and the seamless transition across the seat to the rear, this roadster has a look that perfectly matches the way it rides.
For the first time, the new R 1200 R is available not just in the basic paint finish but also in two additional styles, so as to ensure the design does even more justice to riders' individual preferences: in classic, timeless Cordoba Blue or in athletic Light White with engine spoiler in body color and frame in striking Racing Red or stylish and exclusive Thunder Grey Metallic with a golden fork (only available with the option Dynamic ESA).
The R 1200 R is ahead of its time in terms of technology, too. A total of 125 hp provides plenty of power in the new R 1200 R. Together with the riding modes that can be accessed at the press of a button, the optionally available traction control (DTC) puts this power effectively to the asphalt. The rider has everything in view and under control thanks to the redesigned and expanded instrument panel.
The range of accessories available for the R 1200 R is especially impressive: tank bag, BMW Navigator V and four different windshields are the perfect preparation for a big tour, while the latest generation of the optional Dynamic ESA further increases riding dynamics in the R 1200 R. Innovative features such as the BMW multi-controller, Shift Assistant Pro and Keyless Ride turn a sports-style roadster into a genuine all-rounder. There are also a range of painstaking details such as the milled hand lever and rider footrests or the crash bar in electropolished stainless steel which strike a perfect balance between functional tuning and visual customization. The roadster revolution is beginning.
